Hello all & God bless you & yours!
I would like to continue from where I left off in the last post.
As it concerns national security, here is what the Bible says:
“When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him” (PROVERBS 16:7).
The same is true with the nation whose ways please the Lord. When a nation's ways please the Lord, the Lord will cause that nations enemies to be at peace with them!
This being true (JOHN 17:17 says that God's word is truth), the opposite is also true. When a man's (or nation's) ways DISPLEASE the Lord, He will not make or cause that man's or nation's enemies to be at peace with them.
Am I saying we should not focus on national security at all? Certainly not! But if you have the best national defense that there possibly can be and at the same time we as a people of the United States of America are offending God and we are walking in ways that are not pleasing to Him, it means nothing.
If we are voting in ways that are not pleasing to Him, it means nothing.
I am attempting to communicate to you, the reader, the difference between what is important to God and what is important to us. If we will make what is important to God our priority, He will make what is important to us His priority!
If we will vote into office men and women who believe in the sanctity of life and will stand for it and fight for it, God will stand for this country and fight for this country. If we will vote into office men and women who will stand for and fight for the things that are near and dear to the heart of God according to what “Thus saith the Lord”, the Holy Bible, then God will stand and fight for those things that are near and dear to our hearts, as individuals, families and Americans (PSALM 37:4)!
This is the point that I am trying to make using the examples of our national and personal economies and our national and personal security.
Yes, God loves us. Yes, God cares for us. Yes, God wants the best for us...and He promises us all these things as we choose to make His priorities our priorities ; the issues that are near and dear to His heart, near and dear to our own hearts (DEUTERONOMY 28:1-14 ; PSALM 37:4 ; MATTHEW 6:24-33).
As November 4th election day nears, I find myself having so much to say and so little time!
The next post will consist of a delineation of the issues that I believe are nearest and dearest to God's heart as well as scripture references which clearly let us know how he feels and views such issues. Armed with such knowledge and judging the candidates platforms accordingly, we as believers in Christ Jesus can be confident that we are casting our votes in such a way that is pleasing to God and thereby earning God's good graces and favor toward us, our families and our country!
God bless you as you continue to prayerfully weigh the platforms of this years candidates against the standard of God's holy Word, by which we will either stand or fall, as individuals, as families, as cities and as a nation.
