Vote The Bible Election 2008 PT. 1

Hello all & God bless you & yours!

An election year is upon us and, have no doubts, that God is waiting and watching to see how we, God's elect (MATTHEW 24:24 ; MARK 13:22), the Church, Christians, will vote (DEUTERONOMY 8:1-3).

I'm am going to be writing, with God's help, a series of posts up until Election Day, November 4th entitled “VOTE THE BIBLE ELECTION 2008”.  In these posts,  I want to present the Bible position on issues that are part of the platforms of our presidential candidates as well as our local candidates.

As I was thinking about how to begin this series of posts, I wanted to preface everything that was about to be said with the statement that these posts are meant for the Christian community only and are not directed toward those who are not believers in Christ Jesus, embrace a faith other than Christianity or who have no faith in a deity or deities at all.  But the Holy Spirit began to deal with me and reminded me that the God of the Bible is not only the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (the Jewish community) and the God of the Christian community, but the God of all flesh (NUMBERS 16:22 ; 27:16 ; JEREMIAH 32:27 ; PSALM 24:1 ; ACTS 17:28 ).  He is the God of the believer and the unbeliever alike, the sinner and the saint, the apostle and the atheist and whether we embrace the God of the Bible as God or not makes no difference because we will all deal “with Him with whom we have to do” both  in the temporal sense and the eternal sense, either for our benefit or to our hurt (HEBREWS 4:12-13 ; PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11).

This election (as well as every election!) is very important for it will determine to whom we give the authority to make decisions that will affect our lives, the lives of our neighbors and the lives of those who are yet to be.  To whom will we give the authority to shape our destinies and the destinies of our children and our children's children?  Will the decisions that will be made by those that we vote into office be decisions that endear ourselves, our communities, our cities and our nation to God?  or will the decisions that will be made by those we vote into office “arouse the anger of God” (NUMBERS 22:21-22) and put us in danger of God's judgment (NUMBERS 22:31-33)?

Take this very seriously, Brothers & Sisters in Christ and Friends.

As we look toward voting this year, will we be voting out of a sense of the fear of the Lord (DEUTERONOMY 8:6 ; 10:12 ; PROVERBS 9:10 ; ACTS 9:31) and what is well pleasing in His sight?

Do we know enough of the mind of Christ (1 CORINTHIANS 2:16 ; 2 PETER 3:1 to know what is well-pleasing in His sight (read the Holy Bible...all 66 books)?

Do we care (REVELATION 3:15-16)?

God bless you as you continue to prayerfully weigh the platforms of this years candidates against the standard of God's holy Word, by which we will either stand or fall, as individuals, as families, as cities and as a nation.
