| "We will go into His tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool. Arise, O Lord, into thy rest..." PSALM 132:7-8 "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none." MATTHEW 12:43 "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 God bless you! This is the day that the Lord has made and we choose to rejoice and be glad in it (PSALM 118:24)! We have so many things to be thankful for! Just the fact that you are able to read this particular posting is a blessing from God Almighty! There are some folks who are not able to read this because they are physically blind. There are others who are not able to read this because, for whatever reason, they never learned how to read or were not afforded that opportunity. Still others are able to read this but with much difficulty because of a learning disability! You are indeed blessed my friend if only to be able to read this posting! If you will take some time to be still and take an inventory of your life I bet you will find all sorts of things to be thankful for! No wonder the Bible says to enter into His gates (or presence) with thanksgiving and enter into His courts with praise (PSALM 100:4)! People who do not praise God are people who are unappreciative or unaware of God's many blessings and benefits toward them! The Bible says that He loads us daily with benefits (PSALM 68:19)! What an awesome God we serve! What a good God we serve! He is so good, He is even faithful to bless us and do us good even on the days when we curse Him and don't bother to give Him a second thought! If you will take the time to look back on your life and experience you will find that this is true! Take the time to gather your family and friends together today and thank Him! Not because you want something or need something but just because you are grateful! Thankful that you didn't die in that car accident, thankful that you have a roof over your head, thankful that you have a car to drive, thankful that you are alive and have your health! There are a lot of people in our hospitals who didn't make it through the night to see the light of day today! Yes, God has smiled upon you my friend. Take the time to get away and get alone and tell Him, "Thank You" today! In the last posting, we were talking about the presence of God and how the house of God is not the house of God if His presence is not present. I want to talk a little bit today about the resting place of God and ask of us the question, "Are we allowing the God of all creation to rest in us"? First of all, we have to understand that more important than God's presence being found in a man-made edifice of wood and brick and stone is that He desires above anyplace else to be found in you! For those of us who are Christians, the Word of God says that our physical bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost who is IN us! In other words, our bodies are the resting place of God! Incredible thought! That we could provide a place for God Himself to come and rest and, an even more incredible thought, that He would WANT to come and rest in people such as ourselves who are so prone to sin and weakness and destructive behaviors and everything that is so totally displeasing to Him! Yet, He still wants to call your house (your temple, your body) home! Some of you have been struggling with certain things in your life for a long time. Some of you struggle with tormenting thoughts and images in your mind which cause an upheaval in your soul and thus an unrest and a dis-ease in your person. You are anything but at peace and almost always never at peace. Well, I've got good news for you my friend! The Bible says that Jesus is the Prince of Peace (ISAIAH 9:6)! As a matter of fact, at His advent, Scripture says that the angels appeared to shepherds saying that they had good news of great joy that would be to all people! They went on to give God a praise, saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth PEACE, good will toward MEN" (LUKE 2:14). The good news for you is that where Jesus is there is peace because He is peace! He won't just give you peace, He gives you the thing that peace is...Himself! He wants to call your house home! He wants to find a place of rest in you today! Won't you let Him? Let's pray: Father, I thank you for this my friend who is reading this particular posting. I pray asking that you would fill them with Your Spirit as they invite You to call their house a home. Drive out I pray, in Jesus' name, sickness and disease, depression and discouragement, unrest of every sort and fill them with an overwhelming sense of Your peace and joy knowing that now, being in them, You have promised to be with them always! In Jesus' name, Amen! Until next time, take care, God bless & stay tuned for more from Slaves Wage! Jeff Saenz SLAVES WAGE |
